Math: Be on the look out for Chapter One Test to come home. Kids will be asked to have you sign it, just to be sure they remember to hand it over. And it is a way to practice organization with home/school folder. Continue math fact practice. We are working on multiplication and there will be a heavy focus on word problems. 4.NBT.B.5

Reading: Reading: We begin our first novel study of the year with Bunnicula, written by James and Deborah Howe. RL.4.1 Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.

Grammar: Identifying Parts of speech: noun, verb, adjectives and adverbs

Writing: Responding to written prompts. Using the computer to compose instead of play 😊

Religion: October is the month of the Rosary. Discussion and reflection on the Rosary.

Emotional Learning: With your child, create a “Rethink It!” chart to display at home. Make a list of questions that everyone can use to rethink when emotions are taking over and you just need a little help to see things in a different way.

Cursive: Capital letters

Social Studies: Chapter 2 reading and response. Kids are learning to write answers in complete sentences and find information in the text.
