Here is a list of the activities for Catholic Schools Week:

Monday Feb 1 — Students are invited to Dress in the colors of our flag, or of the flag of their Unbound student’s country.  
 
Tuesday Feb 2 — Talent Tuesday. 
Students are welcome to record talent videos at home and send them to their teachers. 
 
Wednesday Feb 3 — Celebrate all Faiths
8th graders will be visiting virtual classrooms with lessons to share. 
 
Thursday Feb 4 — Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day 💐 
Dress like your favorite St John teacher or staff member. 
 
Friday Feb 5 — Student Appreciation Day

Dress in PURPLE and GOLD.

January 11 – 15

As we welcome 2021, we continue to experience unprecedented events and circumstances. As we navigate through these challenging times, know that we are a community.  St John teachers, administration and support staff are here to support your children academically, socially and emotionally. None of us have the perfect answers for how to respond to current events, but together we will find our way.

Social Studies: This week the class will discuss what a democracy is and why we have the three branches of government. We will continue our discussion over the coming weeks.

Math: We begin our work on division. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NBT.B.6

Religion: We pray daily for our needs and gifts. We will say the Peace Prayer of St Francis this week among other meaningful prayers.

Writing: Students will continue and finish their information essay about an animal of choice.

Reading: Mrs Halley will have the students complete the level set for Achieve 3000 this week and focus on the study of non-fiction text structures.

Religion: One Word: Students will reflect upon and choose one word to focus on for the year that will help clarify their strengths and gifts.

Math:Math: We will review and continue exploration of multiplication CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NBT.B.5: and begin our work with division CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.4.NBT.B.6

Reading with Mrs. Halley Informational Text CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.4.5  Describe the overall structure (e.g., chronology, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution) of events, ideas, concepts, or information in a text or part of a text

Writing: Students will be guided to write an information report.Informational Report CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.W.4.2
