Mother Teresa’s Anyway Poem

People are often unreasonable, illogical and self centered;
Forgive them anyway.

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives;
Be kind anyway.

If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies;
Succeed anyway.

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you;
Be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight;
Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous;
Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow;
Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough;
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and your God;
It was never between you and them anyway.

Inscribed on the wall of Mother Teresa’s children’s home in Calcutta.”

Rosary and Map Testing!

The fourth graders lead the Living Rosary this past Monday with reverence and were awesome role models for their preschool buddies.  We are all so proud of them!

MAP testing begins for Fourth grade this week. Wednesday will be the reading test and Friday the Math. Please help your student be prepared by encouraging plenty of sleep and a healthy breakfast. Send in an extra snack and a full water bottle on test days.

Remind your students of the Customary Measurement Challenge! This is a challenge test by choice that will take place Monday morning.

The Math class has been introduced to customary measurement and the metric system. Study of these topics along with line plots and elapsed time will culminate in a take home practice test Wednesday followed by a fun(ish) task card Quiz Thursday. Measurement practice activities can be found on the google classroom classwork page.

Students seem to love writing and sharing poetry with their classmates. All poetry will be sent home at the end of the unit. Several students also took on the challenge of writing extensive Oregon Trail journals and are steadily finishing.  It has been great hearing the shared entries in class!

During reading class students will continue to strengthen their reading skills by reading and analyzing Greek Myths. This unit is always a favorite and a great way to celebrate their growth in reading and analyzing literature.
